I found Genaro while browsing the web for cool posters, and he definitely has them. His images are mostly sexy character illustrations using a bright 80's techno color palates. They instantly bring to mind Daft Punk's One More Time video when you look at them and thats only a good thing.

Daily Inspiration | The Information

The Information is one of my favorite albums of all time. I am a big Beck fan because he is alway reinventing himself for every album and it sounds great. He also commissions fantastic cover art and The Information is a great example of this. Its minimalist, futuristic and cut/paste style with bold uses of color, pretty much like the album.

Beck commissioned various artists to create stickers for the album and packaged the stickers with the CD the actual cover was just a blank sheet of grid paper. Fans could use the stickers to create their own custom album covers some of which you can see here

Daily Inspiration | Julie Chablin

I found this portfolio via Dirty Mouse. It is the work of Julie Chablin a 22 year old graphic design student attending Gobelins in Paris. She has some great work in there, my favorite being a mock campaign for Rooster Bikes. The bags with boldly colored rooster silhouettes
are fantastic I am a sucker for brightly colored minimalism.

My Favorite Web Development Tools

Published: Wednesday April 29, 2009 3:55PM in Development | Tools |

As a web developer I have used a lot of tools over the years for developing sites. The first one I used was Microsoft Word back in the late 90`s which was as horrible as it sounds. Next I went bare bones and started using Notepad to write code. While using Notepad I drooled over Dreamweaver, but my boss at the time would not buy it for me. Once I realized that I was really serious about the Web I decided to purchase it myself. It was great for a while.

Over time, I realized that although Dreamweaver filled many of my needs but it was very bloated, too many panels and options. It`s preview function which used the Presto Layout Engine rendered dramatically different then IE and Netscape and also was not realtime. It was fine for developing static pages, but once I started working with CMS`s and Javascript it increasingly became useless.  I switched to Adobe GoLive for a little because it offered Smart Object integration with Photoshop and Illustrator an awesome feature that saved a lot of time with image editing but its preview had the same limitations as Dreamweaver. Before long I gave up on the big guns Dreamweaver and GoLive and went to smaller tools like TopStyle, Textmate .

It wasn`t until around early 2007 until I found a set of tools that I loved;

An Introduction

Published: Wednesday April 29, 2009 3:51PM in Personal |

I am a web designer developer working in the New York Metro area I have been designing and developing sites for over ten years and have had the pleasure of working with small businesses like bars, start ups, and event promoters as well as big companies like Hertz USA, Conde Nast and Christies Auction House. I am a web worker because I love the web I think we have scratched the potential of its ability to bring people together and spread knowledge. Plus, it is one of the few jobs where you have to keep studying so it keeps my mind sharp.

I am starting this blog so that I can share my knowledge with other designers and developers. I am going to write useful articles as well as link to helpful articles elsewhere. I hope that you will find useful information here.

I`m somewhat of a social media junkie if you`d like to connect I have profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Friendfeed , Flickr and Linkedin.
